I can think of so many wonderful and creative rhubarb dishes I've tried and never been disappointed because rhubarb is one of my very favorite foods. I will try rhubarb anything. There is also something to be said for enjoying the simplicity of a food and savoring it's unique flavor. This was the case this week's French Friday recipe. Just look at that wonderful red rhubarb!
Now for a sprinkle of lemon zest and a bit of sugar
See how juicy and bubbly it is right out of the oven!
If you are a rhubarb lover like me, sometimes there
is no better way to enjoy this yummy treat than warm
with some fresh whipped cream on top, thanks Dorie!
For more wonderful ways with roasted rhubarb check out French Fridays with Dorie.
Agreed - simple is good. I wish I had a dish of that sitting in front of me right now.

Your rhubarb looks so bright! Great post and blog. I tried to comment on your macaroon post from the end of May but something's wrong on my end. Those look great as well. Thanks for commenting on my blog. I've added yours to my Google Reader and look forward to reading your future posts!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful rhubarb...and beautiful results. Love your idea of serving it with whipped cream :)
ReplyDeleteA beautiful serving of roasted rhubarb and just perfect with a bit of whipped cream;-)
ReplyDeleteThat looks gorgeous! Great job.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what happened to mine - but I am not giving up :) Nana is already out on the hunt for more. Who knew this would be the elusive ingredient around here ? I am curious to find if the "green" rhubarb is more of a problem in taste and texture than the red stuff. Mine looked way more like celery and Nana's wonderful rhubarb looked like yours. Do-over !
ReplyDeleteDish looks good great. I love your colorful blog. It made me smile after a very difficult day. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThose rhubarb of yours look so plump and red, I'm quite envious because I could only get my hands on canned rhubarb that looked green was quite mushy! No roasting for me this week, so I made rhubarb Popsicles instead ;-).
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty photos! Your simple cup of rhubarb looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteFirstly I have to agree with the others above, your blog is so pretty and colourful it brought a smile to my face!
ReplyDeleteAnd your rhubarb looks fantastic! Love the dollop of cream on top. Perfect!
I love rhubarb too. I love your action shot of the sugar as it's sprinkled. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteI love rhubarb too, and eat an awful lot of it plain at this time of year. Yours looks lovely and red. I made tarts with mine.
ReplyDeleteNice photo of the sugar sprinkling. I'm a big fan of simple as well.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos - I'm a big rhubarb fan myself and am lucky enough to have a plant in my garden. This dish was a great addition to the rhubarb repertoire.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty rhubarb! Mine didn't look quite that good, but I loved it anyway!
ReplyDeleteYours is so pretty...mine is so green! LOL! Mine also cooked way too quickly...yours is so firm and lovely! Bravo!!
