I have seen people make these chunky crayons before but never felt like destroying a bunch of perfectly good crayons to make them. Until now. At the end of the school year the boys bring home all their not-so-gently used school supplies including a ton of broken crayons! It was finally time to try recycled crayons. We decided to break them into color groups which was fun. These are super easy and probably best for my three year old who isn't concerned with precise lines and colors yet.
I have been saving crayons as the kids break them (they won't use them once they are "ruined") hoping to do exactly this project. Thank you for sharing!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe make these at least once a year too...I don't know how kids manage to break so many crayons, but it's inevitable, and this is such a great way to re-use those bits!

Cute crayons! I always say I need to make some of these with all my kids broken crayons but have never gotten around to it. Maybe I can get it done this week:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea- and they are so cute
